Beaufort Memorial Hospital Outpatient Testing Site Information
Beaufort Memorial has created an outpatient-testing site to allow patients with a physician order for a COVID-19 test to “drive thru” and have their specimen collected quickly from the safety of their vehicle. The site will open access to testing and mitigate potential community exposure to the virus. It will be available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. It is located near the Beaufort Memorial Medical and Administrative Center at 990 Ribaut Road in Beaufort. Patients with a physician order for testing will receive instructions for accessing the site and test. Security staff will instruct patients to park in a designated area near the hospital’s mobile wellness unit to wait for clinical staff to collect their specimen and send it to the state lab for processing. Following the collection, patients will return home to self-isolate while waiting for results from the ordering physician and/or a member of the hospital’s infection prevention team. Updates from Beaufort Memorial can be found on the hospital’s website and by calling (843) 522-5560. Questions can be emailed to healthupdates@bmhsc.org. For more information about screening guidelines and testing criteria for COVID-19 visit https://www.scdhec.gov/health/infectious-diseases or https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus.
