With it being flu season and the time of year for colds, viruses, and head lice we wanted to provide some useful information to assist in recognizing symptoms, treatment, and also in prevention. Beaufort County district policy states that a child is to be fever free (below 100 degrees) for 24 hours without use of fever reducing medications, prior to returning to school. Please help our school reduce the spread of illness by staying home if you’re ill and keeping your students home if they’re ill. Remind your children that washing your hands is still the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs. If your child has a confirmed diagnosis of the flu (influenza) please notify us either with a Doctors note or asking the Doctor to fax a confirmation note to the school, we are reporting our number of flu cases daily to DHEC.
