Frances Toledano

Hello My Name Is...

Fran Toledano

Third Grade Teacher, Fran Toledano

     I currently teach second grade.

I teach because I love watching my students when they grasp a new idea or concept for the first time.  It is my hope that I can make a difference in their lives by inspiring them, building their confidence, and instilling in them the importance and rewards that comes from an education.  I believe I do more than teach.  I hope when they leave my classroom at the end of a school year, my impact on them during those 180 days continues beyond the classroom and throughout their lives.
I have a BS degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University and a MS degree in Elementary Education form the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I am a National Board Certified Teacher 2002, renewed 2012, and am certified GT.
I have taught grades 1-6 throughout my 34 years of teaching.  I live on Daufuskie Island with my husband, John.  I have three children.  My oldest, Hall, is 31 and lives in NYC.  My middle child, Mary Frances, is 29 and lives in Mount Pleasant, S.C.  My youngest, Altman, is currently working on her PhD. in Physical Therapy.  I love reading books and spending time with my family and friends.
